PEOPLE TAKE LEAVE TO WATCH RESULTS OF KARNATAKA ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS

The Karnataka Assembly elections results have garnered attention from all over the country as it is considered to be the trendsetter for the upcoming general elections in 2019. The closely-contested election between the BJP and the Congress is keenly watched as Karnataka is seen as the gateway for the BJP to enter the southern states.
Many people, including a lot of IT professionals, took leave on Tuesday to only watch the election results, says a report by The New Indian Express. Also, a lot of others have taken ‘work from home’ to watch the results, while some others took ‘sick leave’. Many people have also reportedly planned to visit a friend’s house where they can watch the results together.
Meanwhile, the BJP is leading in over 110 constituencies so far, while the Congress is leading in about 60 seats. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is trailing behind GT Deve Gowda of the Janata Dal-Secular in Chamundeshwari, while he is ahead in Badami. BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa has won once against in Shikaripura constituency.
