According to reports, over 30 lakes in Bengaluru have overflowed due to heavy rainfall, triggering fear of floods among residents. Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials and lake experts have reportedly cautioned that most low-lying residential areas are likely to get flooded due to the overflow. According to BBMP, the following lakes - Begur, Yelahanka, Madiwala, Somsundrapalya, Kaudenahalli, Dorekere, Uttarahalli, Kudlu Doddakere, Rachanahalli, Nagvara, Bellandur and Jakkur among others are overflowing.
