Only 50 items left in 28% slab after GST council meet

After the GST council meeting on Friday, a total of 227 products has been removed from the 28% GST slab. The council agreed to reduce the number of items being taxed in the highest 28% bracket to 50, from the earlier 277. The GST rate was cut to 18% on mass use items like chewing gums, chocolates, and deodorants.
