STRUGGLE FOR YEARS: NIRBHAYA'S MOTHER LEAVES EMOTIONAL STATEMENT ON PRIYANKA REDDY'S RAPE, MURDER!

Unlike us, Priyanka Reddy's family should get justice as soon as possible, Asha Devi, mother of the Delhi 2012 gang-rape victim Nirbhaya told on Monday.

“This case is a reflection of society’s thought and law and order condition. I fear that like us, even that family will have to struggle for years to get justice. However, we will fight for that case as well and I hope that they get justice sooner," she said.

Apparently, Priyanka’s fate reminded the country of Nirbhaya sparking outrage with #HangRapists and #JusticeForPriyanka trending on Twitter.

Priyanka Reddy was allegedly abducted, sexually assaulted and set on fire by four men on Wednesday evening. The accused had punctured the tyres of her vehicle before abducting her in the pretext of helping her.

On the other hand, on December 16, 2012, 23-year-old Nirbhaya was returning home with her friend after watching a film, when she was raped by six men on a moving bus.

Recently, the Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi has recommended the rejection of the mercy petition filed last month by one of the four death row convicts in the 2012 case.

“I welcome this move on the part of the Delhi government. I hope this procedure moves fast and the petition is rejected by the president so that they are hanged soon,” Nirbhaya's mother said.
