A Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jet, which was on a test flight, crashed on Wednesday morning in Maharashtra’s Nashik. However, the pilots ejected before the crash at 11.05 am and managed two escape. The two pilots were on deputation from the Indian Air Force.
Defence PRO Mehul Karnik reportedly said that the jet was an under-production aircraft manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited or HAL in Nashik. It was not handed over to IAF as it was undergoing tests.
A detailed investigation is ordered into the incident which could’ve happened due to a technical glitch.
