In a proud moment for Tamil Nadu as well as the entire country, a 12-year-old boy from the Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu has made a name for himself at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
The boy’s painting will be featured in NASA’s 2019 new year calendar. About a million students send their paintings to the reputed space agency in the world and out of all the submissions, N Thenmukilan’s painting has been selected.
With 'Space Food' as his theme, the painting urges the astronauts to grow vegetables in outer space.
The son of a headmaster and a government school teacher, Thenmukilan is the second boy from the same school to have his work selected for NASA's annual calendar.
NASA's commercial crew released the calendar on December 19 for which they selected 12 entries from around the world. Each of the entries will be used for 12 months a year, out of which Thenmukilan's painting was taken for the month of November.
