WHATSAPP PROFILE PICTURE HELPS POLICE CATCH THIEF

The Mumbai police nabbed a thief in just 48 hours, all thanks to the help of a WhatsApp profile picture. The police were able to nab a 40-year-old domestic aide from West Bengal and recover the gold necklace she had stolen.

On November 8, the employers of the accused realised that they were missing a gold necklace. Unable to find the jewellery anywhere in the house, they went to the police. Investigating the people who used to work for the family, the police noticed that the WhatsApp profile picture of one the domestic help employed named Rita featured her wearing a necklace similar to the one missing.

The victims also confirmed that the necklace in the picture was the one missing. The police immediately detained Rita and the gold necklace she stole was recovered.
