WHATSAPP ADMIN ARRESTED FOR ADDING WOMAN IN PORNOGRAPHIC GROUP

In an arrest of its first kind, a WhatsApp group admin from Mumbai was arrested for adding a woman in a group where pornographic content was shared.

Reportedly, a housewife was added to the group, 'Triple XXX' in September. In the beginning, she thought it was a joke played by her friends. However, upon seeing pornographic content shared on the group she went to the police and filed a complaint.

The police arrested 24-year-old Mustaq Ali Shaikh, a carpenter from West Bengal. Shaikh, however, alleged that he thought he was adding his brother-in-law's number and did not know how he got the complainant's number. He reportedly stated that he meant no harm.

According to the Mumbai police, the arrest is a first of its kind and will warn admins to be cautious about who they are adding and what content is being shared. Shaikh's phone has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory to retrieve data.
