MUMBAI: ITALIAN WOMAN ALLEGEDLY RAPED BY TOUR GUIDE

According to a report by NDTV, an Italian banker filed a complaint on Friday that she was raped by a man claiming to be a tour guide in a cab in Mumbai’s Juhu area on June 14. She had taken a bus for a sightseeing tour of the city when she met him.

Police reportedly said that after the bus tour ended at 7 pm, the man hired a cab and told the woman that he’d drop her at the hotel she was staying in Colaba. On the way, he stopped the vehicle and bought liquor and forced her to consume it.

The man started to touch her inappropriately and then raped her, the police said. After the woman approached the Italian embassy, she was asked to file a complaint with the Mumbai police. Juhu police said that they have registered a case and have launched a hunt for the accused.
