Mumbai comes to halt as Marathas take silent march

South Mumbai was brought to halt on Wednesday when tens of thousands of protesters of Maratha community took the streets for the ‘mook morcha’ or silent protest demanding reservation in jobs and education. Police reportedly said all major roads leading to Byculla in South Central Mumbai were jammed since morning. The Education department ordered to shut the schools and colleges across South Mumbai.
