Times Now reported that as many as 110 people have been arrested. All arrests have been made in connection to the violence in the city. Further, over 60 police officers have been injured as well. Three people have died in the deadly violence. The police had also opened fire at the mob.

The Bengaluru police have arrested Congress MLA Srinivas Murthy’s nephew Naveen for sharing the post which triggered this protest. However, Naveen and his family claimed that his social media account was hacked and that he had no idea regarding the alleged “derogatory” post which triggered the violence.

Karnataka’s Home Minister Basavaraj Bomaai assured that proper action will be taken against the concerned and that vandalism and severe violence is not the answer to this problem.

Bengaluru has been surrounded by Police. Forces have been deployed around the city in order to maintain peace and contain the violence from causing further damage to public properties and loss of life.
