ALIGARH MURDER: HARBHAJAN, SHIKHAR DHAWAN, SANIA MIRZA AND MANY MORE DEMAND JUSTICE

The murder of a two-and-a half-year-old girl has sparked outrage across the country and many took to social media to express their anger.

According to News 18 report, the brutal murder of the minor girl came to light on June 2, 2019 when stray dogs started to drag out the mutilated body of the child from a garbage dump. The child had gone missing on May 30. She was allegedly murdered by two of her neighbours over repayment of loan amount of Rs 5,000.

Media reports say that, two people, identified as Aslam and Zahid, have been arrested in the case. Zahid had reportedly taken a loan of Rs 50,000 from the grandfather of the victim. Days before the child had gone missing, Zahid had allegedly threatened to take revenge after a spat with the family of the victim over non-repayment of the loan.

The incident has caused an outrage on social media with Harbhajan Singh, Shikhar Dhawan, Sania Mirza along with thousands of social media users demanding stringent action against the culprits.

Harbhajan took to Twitter and said "Makes me sick n angry to read such news!! Govt and authorities must give the right punishment to such inhuman people who kill an innocent child. No Outrage From The ‘Usual Suspects’ Over Brutal Murder Of 3-Year-Old Twinkle Sharma In Aligarh."

While, Dhawan shared his anger tweeting that "Completely upsetting to see such a barbaric act against an innocent child. #TwinkleSharma, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Hoping severe punishment is given to the culprit. God bless her soul 🙏🏼 "

Sania Mirza too came out in support stating that "Inhumane , sick and barbaric ... justice must be served and the perpetrators have to be punished .. cannot even begin to imagine what the family is going through ..my heart goes out to them .. #TwinkleSharma"

Many other celebs also expressed their anger and demanded justice. The police have said the culprits will be booked under National Security Act (NSA). However, the police have ruled out rape and that the eyes of the child being gouged out, maintaining that the body was mutilated and decomposed, reports News18.

"We are proceeding with it as an NSA case. We will try to get it to a fast track court. There is no mention of rape or acid in the postmortem report. Five police officials have been suspended," Aligarh Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Akash Kulhary said. The police also said the body was the body was initially hidden at Aslam’s house after which it dumped in the garbage.
