A furious man along with his friend, poisoned 40 dogs in his village after his goat was bitten by a stray. The incident took place in the Cuttak district of Odisha.
Brahmananda Mallick, the accused was angry as his goat was bitten by a stray dog in Mahanga area which falls under the Choudwar police station limits. Filled with deep rage after seeing his goat in pain, he conspired to kill all the dogs in his village along with Bharat Mallick.
Hence the duo mixed poison with pieces of meat. They served the same to all the dogs in the village and within a few hours, they died. "Seeing those dogs dying a painful death at the scene was unbearable and heart breaking. The image will haunt humanity for long," a villager said.
The village sarpanch lodged a complaint at the police station and police have begun investigation. However, both the accused have absconded after committing this grave offense.
