MAN FORCED BY POLICE TO GET BODY OUT OF CANAL, DROWNS

In a shocking case, three police officers have been suspended for allegedly forcing a person to retrieve the body of man from Western Yamuna Canal. The man was not a professional diver so he drowned in the canal, while doing their work. The accused have been identified as sub-inspector Krishna Kumar, Bijendra Singh and Krishan who were head constables.
According to Times Now News, the three cops were posted at the Madhuban police station, who allegedly forced the man to jump into the Western Yamuna Canal. The man who was forced to jump was not a professional diver. The father of the deceased, Ram Pal, received a phone call stating that his son had died under mysterious circumstances. It was later that day, when the father got to know the real reason behind his son's death.
Media reports further state that, the deceased, Sandeep Kumar, resident of Ashok Vihar Madhuban had been forced to jump into the canal even though he was not a professional diver. The father of the deceased, Ram Pal, also stated that the police sent his son's body for an autopsy without taking his permission. The body of the deceased was sent to the mortuary in Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College and Hospital.
Hindustan Times states that, Ram Pal, along with his relatives and residents of his locality, held a protest and took up the matter with the Karnal superintendent of police Surender Singh Bhoria. The family members refused to allow the postmortem of the deceased until the police registered an FIR against the cops.
