Home > News Shots > IndiaAs India is about to end the fourth phase of the nationwide lockdown, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) announced new set of guidelines for the fifth phase. The centre has issued fresh guidelines as it extended the lockdown till June 30 except in containment zones.
Meanwhile, the centre has also given a plan for phased reopening of areas outside containment zones.
While releasing the new set of guidelines, the home ministry said, religious places, hotels and restaurants will be allowed from June 8. "The current phase of re-opening, Unlock 1, will have an economic focus," said the guidelines.
Even night curfew, however, will remain in force from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am across the country. Also, people linked to essential services are allowed to move at night.
"Movement of individuals shall remain strictly prohibited between 9:00 pm and 5:00 am throughout the country, except for essential activities. Local authorities shall issue orders in the entire area of their jurisdiction, under appropriate provisions of law, such as under Section 144 of CrPC and ensure strict compliance," the Home Ministry said.
Most of the activities banned earlier will be opened up in areas outside containment zones in a phased manner. While a decision on reopening schools will be taken only in July. Check out the post below:
