Malayalees protest Union minister’s statement in Lok Sabha

Protesting Union minister Kiren Rijiju’s statement on violence in Kerala, Malayalees living in Delhi on Tuesday took out a protest march to Parliament. They demanded to expunge from the House proceedings Rijiju’s statement in the Lok Sabha that Kerala registered a large number of incidents of violence. The protesters wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker, Sumitra Mahajan, reportedly saying, “The minister’s statement would add to the already existing attempts to defame and tarnish Kerala’s reputation.”
