Karnataka industries minister RV Deshpande, in a letter, urged PM Modi to make Bengaluru the second capital city of India. Saying, “India needs a second capital city and Bengaluru is the best place to fulfill that role,” the minister defended that the move will create new opportunities in trade, cultural exchange and scientific and industrial innovation in the city. The letter also says that Bengaluru has a diverse population of students and professionals.
