Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reportedly announced the first phase of its farm loan waiver scheme and released Rs 4,000 crore for farmers on Wednesday. “we have released Rs 4,000 crore, of which Rs 3,200 crore will be used to write off the loans of 4.62 lakh farmers”, said Fadnavis. He also added that the remaining Rs 800 crore will be distributed as incentives for 3.78 lakh farmers, who pay their loans back on time.
