Bengaluru Police Commissioner has also confirmed that no damage has been reported anywhere in the city. “We have asked the Air Force Control Room to check if this was a flight,” he said. The police also speculate on the sound having been that of a jet aircraft, flying overhead.
Some residents also pointed out that Hindustan Aeronautic Limited could have been conducting flight testes. "We don't know either. It has nothing to do with Hindustan Aeronautic Limited (HAL) flights," a HAL spokesperson told The News Minute.
However, a similar Sonic Boom was heard in the city, fifteen years ago, in 2005 as well. The cause of that boom has also been unknown. Some residents on social media also claim that a similar sound was heard in 2018.
