VIDEO VIRAL: WOMEN COLLEGE STUDENTS' FORCED TO WEAR 'KURTIS BELOW KNEE'; MAKE SECURITY TO CHECK LENGTH

Following a dress code be it in school or college has always been mandatory; many institutions have also been strict about it. But this college in Hyderabad appears to be taking it one step further.
One of the renowned girls college in Hyderabad, St Francis College for Women had recently banned the students from wearing kurtis whose length is above the knee and sleeveless clothing.
The college further claimed that short kurtis show a woman’s thigh which “attracts men” and that wearing long kurtis will be able to fetch them good marriage proposals. A video regarding this issue had gone viral on social media where a group of girls at St Francis College in Hyderabad, can be seen waiting to enter the college.
Many were not given entry as one by one the girls were picked out on the length of their kurta.
As per News18 report, this bizarre rule was imposed by the college, which came into effect from August 1. The students would have to wear kurtis below knee length and sleeves.
As, sleeveless, shorts and similar clothing is banned in the campus.So students, who did not fit as per the 'guidelines,' were not allowed to attend their classes, News18 further reported.
Taking matters serious in hand, the college also hired female security guards to check the length of the kurtis. Meanwhile, one of the posts of a former student of the college claimed that the “below the knee length” rule was imposed citing that "thighs attract boys." While, another ex-student mentioned how the dress code was imposed in the middle of the year.
"They went ahead and pulled girls by their id cards and even pulled their kurtis," Zanobia Tumbi said in her Facebook post. In one of the videos, a girl can also be heard saying, "This is supposed to be one of the best colleges in the Hyderabad. If we are treated like this here, what can we expect from the world?"
Hours after this video went viral, students in large numbers protested for imposing these dress codes. Especially, the harassment they faced while entering the college premises.
After long hours of protest, the college administration was, forced to withdraw the diktat or new rule.
