KOLKATA: DAUGHTER-IN-LAW BEATS UP ELDERLY WOMAN FOR PLUCKING FLOWERS

In a shocking incident in South Kolkata's Garia area, a woman beat up her mother-in-law for plucking flowers from the garden “without permission”. A neighbour captured the video of the accused Swapna Pal mercilessly beating up her mother-in-law Jashoda Pal, 75, and shared it on social media.

Reportedly, police said that the woman was arrested and later released on bail after a police officer came across the video and reported it to a senior official. The Kolkata Police’s post on social media claims Yashoda Pal is a patient of amnesia. She was subjected to physical abuse on a daily basis, the post said adding that her husband had passed away several years ago.

The mother-in-law was rescued from the woman, say reports. The social media users condemned the incident and demanded stringent punishment for the accused woman.
