KERALA: LANDSLIDE DEATH TOLL RISES TO 7

According to reports, at least seven people have been killed so far in the landslides caused by two weeks of heavy rains due to the southwest monsoon. Reports also suggest that around 10 people are missing in Kozhikode and the rescue operations are underway.
The heavy rains also damage crops and hundreds of houses across the state. Educational institutions are closed in many districts. Heavy waterlogging is reported in many districts, while hilly areas witnessed landslides.
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy to very heavy rains for the next five days. Relief camps have been set up for people who either lost their house or their living areas are waterlogged.
