Kerala Assembly Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan has triggered a controversy after the costs of his glasses worth Rs 50,000 have been reimbursed by the state government. He reportedly owns spectacles worth Rs 49,900, including glasses worth Rs 45,000 and a frame worth Rs 4,900. Earlier Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja ran into controversy after she got the cost of her spectacles worth Rs 28,000 reimbursed. It's unfortunate that the Speaker himself has not shown any restraint in spending taxpayers' money, RTI activist V Binu reportedly said.
