KERALA: 1.24 LAKH STUDENTS NOT DECLARED CASTE, RELIGION DURING ADMISSION

According to a data collected from 9,000 schools in Kerala for the academic year 2017-2018, over 1.24 lakh students of private and government schools chose not to fill the caste and religious columns of the admission forms. State education minister C Raveendranath on Wednesday informed the Assembly that about 1,23,630 students between classes 1 and 10, 278 from Class 11 and 239 from Class 12 left the respective columns blank, say reports.
