FINE ANNOUNCED FOR FANCY NUMBER PLATES AND TAGLINES

The Karnataka Transport authorities will be monitoring the vehicles in order to find out those with faulty and fancy illegal number plates including taglines, government emblems and logos. It will be brought into effect from Saturday.
N Shivkumar, Commissioner for Transport and Road Safety confirmed on taking strict actions due to the Central Motor Vehicles (CMV) rules. He also insisted on the violation of using government symbols and emblems without proper authorization. People who violate the rules will have to face action following the Emblems and Names (Prevention of improper Use) Act 1950.
The Transport Department officials and Karnataka Police will jointly act together to carry out the enforcement from December 28 (Saturday). From Saturday vehicles with improper number plates will be fined Rs 500 and the faulty numbers will be removed by the officials.
