According to a report by ANI, Supreme Court Justice Dipak Misra will take over as the next Chief Justice of India, after current CJ Jagdish Singh Khehar retires from his position on August27. This comes after Khehar recommended Justice Misra as his successor on Tuesday. Misra, who will be India's 45th Chief Justice, will hold the office until his retirement on October 2, 2018. Notably, the 63-year-old was enrolled as an advocate on February 14, 1977.
