Jamia Milia Islamia University's official website was hacked in the early hours of Tuesday. Users were greeted with a birthday wish that said, "Happy Birthday Pooja. Your love."
The website is back up now, but the group/individual responsible have not yet been found. The university's media coordinator Saima Saeed reportedly said, "It is unfortunate that someone plays such pranks to send personalised messages. We would be taking this issue seriously. There would be a meeting and we will decide the future course of action."
The university authorities received information at between 12 to 1 am and immediately started working on it. It reportedly took six hours to recover the website.
