According to reports, an infant was allegedly made to lie on burning embers during a Muharram observance in Karnataka’s Dharwad district. A five-second video of the incident shows a man picking up a baby wrapped in banana leaves. The ritual is reportedly performed to protect children from any untoward happenings. No case has been registered and that the Child Welfare Committee was roped into counsel the parents, police said.
