SC TO HAVE FIRST EVER WOMAN JUDGE

The Supreme Court is to have its first woman judge in its panel. Senior lawyer Indu Malhotra's files were cleared by the Centre on Wednesday for the elevation as a SC judge. According to reports, Indu Malhotra will take an oath on Friday.
The SC Collegium had recommended both Indu Malhotra and KM Joseph, current Chief Justice of Uttarakhand for the appointment as SC judge. However, Joseph's file was not cleared.
