India test fires supersonic cruise missile

Today, India created history by test firing the BrahMos missile from a twin-engine Sukhoi fighter jet, over the Bay of Bengal, as confirmed by the Ministry of Defence. The BrahMos missile can be launched from air, sea and land, giving the Indian military a powerful boost. BrahMos II, the hypersonic version of the missile will be ready for testing by 2020.
