According to reports, at least twelve people have died in various parts of Maharashtra during the Ganesh idol immersion processions on Tuesday. However, the exact details of their deaths are not immediately known. An assistant sub-inspector suffered a stroke and died while on duty in Mumbai. Police reportedly said three persons drowned during Ganesh idol immersion in the Shivani lake near Bidkin in Aurangabad district; four people lost their lives in Pune, two in Jalgaon and one each in Nashik and Beed districts.
