Journeys are themselves a hassle for patients. Especially traveling mid-air while being sick is altogether a different tragic experience.

IAF doctor saves a patient from cardiac arrest in flight

In one such incident, a Bangladeshi passenger, traveling with her daughter, suffered cardiac arrest on board an IndiGo flight from Pune to Kolkata. As she collapsed, the crew sought medical assistance from any doctor among the passengers. An IAF doctor, Dr. TVSVGK Tilak, who was on-board the flight reportedly volunteered to help the passenger.

He began performing CPR and revived the patient in less than a minute. A medical oncologist, who was a fellow passenger, administered emergency medicine and oxygen.

About 45 minutes after the patient was recovered, the flight landed, and she was taken to the local hospital. The patient was reportedly going through cancer treatment in Dhaka already.
