MURDER CASE AGAINST BJP LAWMAKER - HOW UNNAO RAPE VICTIM LOST HER FATHER, AUNTS AND IS NOW BATTLING FOR LIFE

The teen rape survivor, lawyer and two of her aunts, of which one was an eye witness in the rape case, were travelling in a car when they got into an accident which killed both her aunts.

The police said preliminary investigations indicate it was an accident. The security assigned to her did not travel with her and the truck that hit the car had its number plate scrubbed.

The girl has fractures on her ribs, collarbone, an arm and a leg and is now in critical condition. "It was not an accident but a conspiracy to eliminate all of us... The son of a co-accused in the case, Shahi Singh, and another youth of the village had threatened us," said her mother.

The driver was arrested and the driver alleged that he scrubbed the plates as he missed payment for vehicle loan. "We are inquiring whether this was the case. They had security with them. We are looking into whether they had said this to the police," said the police on the mother's claims.

The girl alleged that she was sexually assaulted by the lawmaker when she went to his home to seek job. The case made it to headlines after the mother and the girl tried to burn themselves in front of UP CM's residence last year.

The lawmaker Kuldeep Sengar's brother Atul Sengar is accused of murdering the girl's father who was pursuing the case. Her father was beaten up by Atul and his men and shortly was arrested for allegedly possessing illegal arms, and died in police custody.

In a series of tweets, Priyanka Gandhi said "So a woman is allegedly raped by a BJP MLA. Her father is beaten up and dies in custody. A key witness dies mysteriously last year. Now her aunt who was also a witness is killed and her lawyer is critically injured in an accident caused by a truck with blackened number plates... The accused continues as a BJP legislator, and the BJP State Government has the audacity to run a 'Fear-free UP' campaign???"
