At least seven persons were killed after thunderstorms and heavy rains wreaked havoc in Hyderabad on Monday, say reports. The sudden downpour reportedly caused buildings to collapse, cars to be crushed. It also reportedly caused suffocating traffic for over five hours, inundated shopping areas and destroyed crops. The state government announced Rs 4 lakh to the kin of all the deceased, reports say.
