Following the victory in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, the BJP and its allies now rule in 19 out of the 29 Indian states. 67.78% of the country’s population is now governed by BJP and its allies, say reports. BJP has allied with ruling parties in Andhra Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Sikkim and Nagaland. Further, reports suggest that 78.08% of the Indian territory is now governed by the saffron party and its allies.
