In the amended guidelines for journalists, the Information and Broadcasting ministry have reportedly stated that a journalist's accreditation will be suspended or permanently cancelled if they are found to have "created and/or propagated' fake news.
The Press Council of India will be the regulatory body for print while the News Broadcasters Association will be the regulatory body for television media to check whether the news is fake.
