The Gujarat High Court decided to give former Minister Maya Kodnani the benefit of doubt in the Naroda Patiya case and acquitted her on Friday.
On February 27, 2002, Sabarmati Express was torched in which 57 Hindus were killed. Following this incident, 97 Muslims were killed in the Naroda Patiya massacre, the next day. Kondani was accused of inciting a mob to kill the Muslims in Narogan Patiya.
