Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Sunday reportedly announced that the state would make amendments on a prohibition of liquor drinking in public areas and alongside the road near the beach. Reportedly, the BJP leader addressed this in a function organised for Narendra Modi's birthday. According to media reports, Parrikar said, "liquor drinking must be done inside and not in the public and actions will be taken in the next 15 days to ban alcohol consumption in public places." The notification will be issued in October end and will be amended to the existing state law, reports say.
