According to a ToI report, a Kendriya Vidyalaya teacher in Raipur has advised girls against wearing jeans, lipstick or “revealing clothes”, saying that such acts incite “crimes like that of the Nirbhaya gangrape.” The girls have reportedly filed an anonymous complaint against the teacher Snehlata Shankhwar who allegedly said, “Girls like Nirbhaya who are outgoing are calling for it.” The biology teacher also said, “Girls expose their body only when they don’t have beautiful faces.” Girls reportedly said that they felt uncomfortable and embarrassing when the teacher said this in a classroom with boys. KV Sangathan Assistant Commissioner Venkateshwarlu said he has sought a detailed report from the principal, say reports.
