According to reports, students at an all-girls government hostel in Madhya Pradesh have been forced to defecate near a drain due to water shortage. The warden of the hostel reportedly stated that due to heavy water shortage, the girls have to walk two kilometres to defecate near a drain. Reportedly, they also bathe and wash their clothes there.
The hostel has toilets, but there is no availability of water to function them. The warden reportedly said, "We manage to arrange drinking water, but getting water for other purposes is not possible."
The issue came to the district collector's notice only after the local media covered it. He reportedly assured that he has directed officers to arrange water for the hostel.
