GIRL STUDENTS FORCED TO TAKE OFF LEGGINGS BY AUTHORITIES!

A section of girl students from an English medium school in Bolpur, Birbhum, was forced to take off their leggings as it did not abide the code of school uniform. The act resulted in a large-scale protest by parents and local residents. The state education department has asked the district inspector of schools to submit a report on the incident.

"My daughter returned home and I found she was without her leggings. When asked, she said her class teacher took off her leggings during tiffin break," father of a student was quoted as saying by TNIE.

Protesting parents alleged that students between 5-9 years of age were forced to take off their leggings. They said their daughters wore the apparel due to the weather condition in the morning and the school authorities did not consider it.

On the other hand, the school authorities, reportedly, claimed to have issued a guideline on uniform code to students at the time of admission and only those who did not follow the rules were asked to take off their leggings.
