GERMAN IIT MADRAS STUDENT ASKED TO LEAVE INDIA FOR JOINING PROTESTS!

A German exchange student in IIT Madras has been reportedly sent back for participating in protests on campus in Chennai against the citizenship law and police crackdown on students in Delhi, reports NDTV.

Indian Express quoted him telling that he recieved oral directions from the Foreigners Regional Registration Office to leave India. His participation in the protest reportedly violated his visa terms. He is a PG student majoring in physics. He had another semester to complete.

He was seen in several images holding two placards that said "Uniformed Criminals = Criminals" and "1933-1945 We have been there".

Apart from the students, several politicians also condemned the move. IIT Madras hasn't made any comment so far.
