Couple of days after a worker died due to Ammonia gas leak in Kurnool, another gas leak has taken place at Sainor Life Sciences in Vishakhapatnam's Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City, Parawada, Andhra Pradesh.
As per media reports at least two people lost their lives after the gas leak. Both of them were present at the site where leakage took place.
The Benzimidazole gas leak happened in the wee hours of Tuesday. Four people have been hospitalized due to the gas leak. The people who fell ill have been taken to RK Hospital. While three of them are out of danger, one of them is in critical condition.
The situation is reportedly under control at present. The Benzimidazole gas which is not very dangerous, has not spread to other places.
"Situation under control now. The two persons who died were workers and were present at the leakage site. Gas has not spread anywhere else," Uday Kumar, Inspector, Parwada Police Station, was quoted as saying by a news agency.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has sought information about the incident, his office said this morning. "The accident is confined to a department in which there is a reactor. There is no need to panic. The district collector has ordered an inquiry into the matter," read the statement by the Chief Minister's office.
Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu conveyed his condolences to the families of the deceased through his tweet.

This incident comes two months after around 11 people, including two children were killed and almost 1000 were sick due to the gas leak at a chemical plant- LG Polymers facility in Vishakhapatnam.
