However, the police revealed that they were found dead under suspicious circumstances on Friday. The bodies of all the family members were recovered froom different parts of the house.
The police spotted some lemons and coconut in the backyard of their hours in Nagapur village of Revali Mandal of the district. Reportedly, some villagers believed that a ‘kshudra Pooja’ (Black Magic) was performed.
Police revealed that “the bodies of an elderly woman, in her 60s, her daughter, mid-30s, son-in-law, in his 40s and the girl child, with injury marks on her cheek and a leg, were found lying in different parts of the house,” India Today cited in its report.
On the basis of preliminary investigation, police revealed that they suspect the family members might have died by suicide after consuming some poisonous substance around midnight on Thursday. However, they also mentioned about the injury marks of the girl’s body. Neighbours found the four of them dead and reported it immediately to the police.

"A detailed investigation is underway to ascertain the exact reasons for their deaths," the official said. The police also stated that a few years ago, the elderly woman had allegedly got someone else to perform “black magic” in order to acquire some hidden treasure.
