Five men from Ghaziabad were arrested on Monday for the murder of a 15-year-old girl five months ago. The accused include the girl's boyfriend and his father. Reportedly, Sumit Kumar wanted to murder the girl as she was forcing him to get married. He also suspected her of having affairs with other men.
Kumar alleged that he had met her in November 2017 and was, in fact, ready to get married. However, after he came to know that she had other boyfriends, he changed his mind. He reportedly said, "I changed my plan and planned to murder her. On January 8, I roped in driver Sonu for Rs 200 and a bottle of alcohol. We picked her up from Vijay Nagar and took her to Meerut. My father and I strangled her.”
The accused were booked by the police for criminal conspiracy, abduction, murder, rape and provision of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
