First-year students of a Bhopal University were caught on a video checking answer sheets of the college's final year students. The answer sheets of final year BA Hindi literature students were seen checked by first-year students.
The exam was reportedly conducted by Barkatullah University. On behalf of the professors, the students were correcting the papers. The incident enraged other students, following which protests were held.
After the insistence of the students, a probe has been ordered by the university. Vice Chancellor DC Gupta reportedly said, "We have constituted three-member enquiry committee, this committee will check all the process followed by Sanjeev Dubey and how he has given the copies to Dr Dhaniram Ahirwar and how he has given the copies to the students for valuation."
Both BJP and Congress' National Students Union Of India (NSUI) have branded the incident as a serious issue. BJP spokesperson Rahul Kothari was even quoted as saying, "This is a serious matter and the government will investigate properly. This is not about BJP, NSUI, we are sensitive towards improving the quality of education."
Reportedly the probe report is expected by next week.
