To help communities recover faster from disasters in the aftermath, Facebook has introduced several new features including ‘Disaster Maps’ feature in India. As part of the measure, Facebook will make data available through features for safety checks and raising donation for relief measures to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the Sustainable Environment and Ecological Development society. The measures were reportedly announced at Facebook’s first annual ‘Disaster Response Summit’ in New Delhi on Thursday.
