"ENGINEERING SUCKS": 18-YEAR-OLD IITIAN COMMITS SUICIDE

An 18-year-old student from IIT Guwahati committed suicide on Wednesday due to the frustration of taking up engineering.
SC Nagashree was a first-year mechanical engineering student. When her roommate had gone to attend classes, Nagashree committed suicide. Her roommate informed the security after the door wouldn't open and Nagashree did not answer her calls.
The girl was found hanging to death from the ceiling fan. She had written a short suicide note which expressed her unhappiness in taking up engineering. Nagashree had written, "Engineering sucks." Her letter contained her grief over how she could not fulfil her parents' wishes.
