Days after the incumbent Arvind Panagariya resigned, economist Dr Rajiv Kumar was on Saturday reportedly named the new Vice-Chairman of NITI Aayog. Kumar is a DPhil in economics from Oxford and also holds a PhD from Lucknow University. He has also held senior positions in the Ministries of Industries and Finance. Further, the government also appointed Dr Vinod Paul, a paediatrician at AIIMS, as a member of the Aayog.
