A student of IIT Hyderabad killed self by jumping off from the third floor of a campus building, reports the Times of India.
According to police, the 20-year-old student was doing his engineering. Minutes before his suicide, he had sent an email to his friend which had a suicide note.
“There is a critic within me questioning my every move to the extent that I feel I shouldn’t exist. I shouldn’t exist because I am a self-obsessed guy. I was brought up that way, being compared with my peers all the time,” it read.
“Life rather seems depressing. Never-ending strands of misfortune to an extent that I mentally couldn’t tolerate it. I have no clue how my future is going to be. I have been feeling this for the past two months,” he continued.
IIT released a statement which read “IIT Hyderabad faculty, staff and students extend their deepest condolences to the family, friends and other near and dear ones of the deceased student. This is indeed an irreparable loss to the institute and the family.”
This is the third suicide in the campus this year. A third year student jumped off hostel building in February and a second year student wrote "no future for failures" in note and hanged self in hostel room in July.
Suicide is never an option. There is always help available from various organizations. One example is Sneha's organization: 044 2464 0050.
